Now that the year is ending
And Christmas is on it's way,
I have been wanting to write to you
I have some things to say.

Please enjoy this Christmas season
With all is excitement and fun,
Remember the joy and the laughter
During your days on the run.

Preparing can be chaotic
And sometimes the charm is lost,
It can all seem so overwhelming
And come at such great cost.

Be sure to keep to the traditions
That your family have made their own,
Remember to do some of the things
You did before the children were grown.

Choose the gifts you will give with thought,
Remembering those special things,
That make each person dear to you
And the pleasure that it brings.

When you wrap your gifts include a thought
And a hope for safety and peace,
Include a wish within each parcel
For joy that will not cease.

The gifts of the heart are important
And mean so much through the years,
They often bring a calm and quiet
And a release from many fears.

Be gentle with yourself
As you struggle to be prepared,
Remember this letter I send you now
Please remember that I cared.
