A part of yesterday will always live
Within this heart of mine,
The days when winds were fair
And everything was fine.

A part of yesterday is locked away
Never to see light of day,
The things I said, the things I did,
And how I walked my way

A part of yesterday brings joy to me
When I look back at the scene,
I see the things I should have seen
And all the things they mean.

A part of yesterday reminds me
Of the joy of a sunny day,
The love the laughter and the tears
And children at their play.

Yesterday makes me who I am
Tenderness, compassion and care,
A part of you lives in yesterday
And always will be there.
