REMEMBERING

Can time have moved along so fast
And can it be five years?
Since the shock, the pain
And the bitter taste of tears.

Yes, five years have come and gone,
And never a day has passed
When I havenít given you thought
And remembered your very last.

Time has changed so many things
But memory is kind
Life moves on and so do we,
But you often cross my mind.

I remember your laughter,
I remember your tears,
And thinking back I clearly see
The depth of all your fears.

Many people miss you
And sometimes mention your name,
Time has been gracious
And I can now mention you without pain.

I see your roses growing
And I remember the lilac days,
Yes, five years have come and gone
But I remember you and your ways.
