These words will be said so
In the days that lie ahead,
I have so many things still undone
Buzzing about in my head.
Sitting quietly at the end of day
With the Christmas tree lights flashing,
I think of the letters I have to write
And the places to which I'll be dashing.
How do you feel when these words you hear,
Does it give your heart a lift?
Do you remember the Christmas Story
And that very special gift?
Do you think of that Mother so far from home
In a stable cold and bare,
How she wrapped her child in swaddling bands
And tenderley showed her care.
Can you image the fear in the hearts
Of those men tending their sheep,
When an Angel choir told it's news~
For them there would be no sleep.
The faith in the hearts of those Wise Men three
Who travelled and followed the Star,
How they brought with them special gifts
As they travelled so very far.
In my mind I can see the animals
Standing and viewing the scene,
With sleepy eyes and heads bowed low
Wondering what this could mean.
So when I say to you Merry Christmas
Please know that it is sincere
That there are so many things I wish for you
Not only at this time of the year.
I wish you love and laughter
Kindness and and a tender word,
The touch of a hand and friendship
And someone to show they cared.
Happiness and faith in yourself
As your travel on your way,
Family and Friends beside you,
A comfy bed at end of day.
Merry Merry Christmas my friend,
May stars shine in your sky,
May there always be an answer
When you question Why.
